Quickstart: deploy an MCP server

This guide takes you from nothing to an MCP tool that Claude Code can call. You need a Glxymesh account and a terminal. You don’t need Go installed, because the platform compiles your tool for you.

1. Install the CLI

   macOS / Linux

   The binary is called gxmesh. It keeps itself current with gxmesh update.

2. Sign in

   gxmesh login

   The CLI shows a sign-in URL and a code, and tries to open the URL in your browser. Enter the code there and approve. The CLI then stores its tokens in ~/.config/gxmesh. This works over SSH too: open the URL on any machine.

3. Choose an organization

   gxmesh org use

   With no argument it lets you pick from the organizations you belong to. Tools are published into a project inside that organization. If you haven’t chosen one, the organization’s default project is used, and it’s created the first time you push.

4. Scaffold a tool

   gxmesh new hello
   cd hello

   This writes manifest.json, main.go, go.mod and a README.md. The template is a working tool that echoes its input back to you. See Write an MCP tool in Go for what each file does.

5. Publish it

   gxmesh push

   The CLI uploads the source, the platform compiles it to WebAssembly, and the tool goes live in the active project. If the code doesn’t compile, you get the compiler’s output back.

6. Connect Claude Code

   Every project has one endpoint:

   https://mcp.glxymesh.com/mcp/<org>/<project>

   claude mcp add --transport http glxymesh https://mcp.glxymesh.com/mcp/<org>/default

   Inside Claude Code, run /mcp, choose glxymesh → Authenticate, and approve the sign-in page that opens. Then ask Claude to call hello.

The console’s Connect screen shows your exact endpoint with the org and project already filled in.
